The pay at SWIFT was so laughably low that it's not a loss. Even without this issue quitting was probably the right move. I have other options (non-trucking) available to me so I don't need to job search.
If you know enough about the industry to know that their pay is laughably low, what were you doing there in the first place? Swift is a company where you get the experience necessary to get a real job. Not meaning to be a jerk, but...there's the fable of the scorpion and the frog. You knew what Swift was before you signed on, I'm assuming. Can't be mad at Swift for being Swift.
Why do you assume I knew this ahead of time? I did not. I learned it by working there for 3.5 months.
I did have some. I just don't believe everything I hear on the internet. Sure, a TON of people bash Swift, but they're almost always limited to bad jokes, memes, and nonsensical statements. I almost never hear detailed, credible information about them. I also didn't have many trucking options since I had a long gap where I worked in a different field since getting my experience. I decided to give Swift a shot. I didn't expect them to be the best, but I did NOT expect them to be as awful as they were. They were awful in ways I hadn't even imagined.
Okay. Well, dust yourself off and find a better gig. @Chinatown is the man to ask when you're ready to start looking.
Thanks, but I already have several options available. None of them are trucking so there's no point mentioning them, but I'm going to take some time off before deciding which way to go.
