This is a old thread.. I thought I updated it. Anyway.. the hospital in VA diagnosed it as elbow bursitis gave me some steroids and sent me on my way.. I was under load, so I drove with 1 arm to Harrisburg, PA delivered then went to our terminal at Pittson, PA.

My arm was still screwed so I decided I'd sit for a few days at the terminal and decide what to do because I knew there was no way I could continue driving with 1 arm. So I sat for 2 days and it just got worse so I went to a walk in clinic in Wikes-Barre they took a sample and soon as he stuck the needle in and started pulling out the fluid it was clearly infected. They sent me directly to the hospital where I was stuck in intensive care for 3 days.. I didn't feel bad or anything, felt fine but they were worried it would go into my blood so they were doing blood tests on me every 4hrs I think it was..

It ended up putting me out of driving for about 3.5-4 months.. I had to turn my truck in, bought a beater van in PA and drove home with all my stuff after I got out of the hospital.

They couldn't really say why it became infected, but it started out as the elbow bursitis then became infected. They said it was probably due to my psoriasis because I had a spot on that elbow but they said no way to know for sure..

Friend of mine is in prison. Says it's rampant with MRSA. He has caught it 3 times there because they will not use harsh enough chemicals to kill it. All about money. He said the doctor told him he would quit catching it when he left there.

Like my mom, if they don't catch it soon enough it can be hopeless. The hospital where she contracted it had her back for a week and told her she was cured. A few months later while visiting her sister in Florida she started really feeling bad. By then it had spread through her body and it was too late.
