    I was able to get a long block at no charge when it was 16K over warranty. Detroit would not give any warranty to it as i was not charged for it to begin with. May be the same type of situation that you're in.

    It's exactly the same situation. The liability falls under the dealer as "policy" The obviously don't pay the premiums on that policy. Just pocket the money and run away.

    Mine was fine until it was traded in, just no warranty so it didn't count when traded. I did get detroit to give me extended warranty on a couple of new ones instead.
