    He would also hear the tire blow with 1 hearing aid in, or while wearing earbuds. And if you somehow don't hear a tire blow you would feel it unless you have no observation of anything around you.
    That is a bs violation and you can't compare that to glasses

    It is in the rules for driver medical qualifications. Cannot meet them, no drive. Simple as that.

    If he had a waiver, would not be out of service for violation of the rules.

    How is it you can drive a truck if you are completely deaf but have to have a hearing aid if you are partial?

    How do I get this said waiver?

    I can still hear out of one ear and i have been depending on one ear ever since I have been growing up. Stupid me forgot to take one hearing aid out at the DOT physical.

    Any out of service matters. but they won't make a big deal of it as long as it's not a log book violation. most company's are hard up for drivers and they will over look anything except log book out of service.
