One time after a two hour converstation (Mostly one way) about a bridge too low in Mechanicsburg, the Officer and I decided it was time for me to do a u turn out of there. But first what about that Ghosted image of the PA sticker that was supposed to be on the cab side?
Turns out the sticker had left leaving a ghosted image from the adhesive or sun. It was still valid on cab card but company got a ticket and had to find a new PA sticker pronto. Anyway. So the officer got two things that day, saved my life (Bridge was a foot low due to new pavement) and had a small ticket besides.
I could be the one with problems related to Californias clean air. If challenged by one of theirs I would have to see if he or me would get up to the stack to breathe in that clean air out of that exhaust, if passed out then ticket time for no carb clean air sticker. That would settle things nicely.navyvet5150 Thanks this. -
Checking validity of that sticker..
The presence of current registration..
The functionality of the ABS system..
and much more, should be part of every trip check when picking up a new trailer.
If you trust the last guy to have dropped a fine specimen for you, you're extremely naive.
ABS issues are the biggest problem I find.
Lights on..
Systems unplugged..
It's part of your pretrip, so ultimately the tix can be written to you.navyvet5150 Thanks this. -

CFI isn’t bad, I’ve been here for almost a year. I will say some drivers are careless and others will mind everyone’s business but their own.
I got into it with a driver earlier because he kept accusing me of scraping my trailer (luckily I have photos and an inspection report of the damage BEFORE I hooked up to it)
We have a lot of dumb dumbs here -

Every new trailer I inherit from another team is sometimes busted up and in need of repairs, failing pretrips with airleaks in brake hoses and nails in tires and such. Then when I go on home time they get my trailer after I had all the repairs done and bust it all up again and just ditch it when they go home.
I can understand some stuff maybe they just didn't notice like a nail in a tire might not get noticed for awhile. But an airleak in a brake hose? You couldn't hear the leaking, and you couldn't just write it up real quick before you left?
That's one big reason I get back to the terminal a day before I am set to leave. If their are any issues like that, maybe I can get it dealt with and not lose any money.jammer910Z Thanks this. -
I feel your pain, I get a new trailer twice for every load. lol
