I called on a load yesterday for some regular freight, not OD or hazmat etc. the broker ran my MC # and said my HOS was at 99% and they only work with carriers 85% or under. I checked my FMCSA portal and I have two inspections. The first one (January) I got several HOS violations, but it still does not give me a safety rating. The only measurement in percentage related to HOS is 50% because the second inspection I didn’t get any violations. The HOS violations from the first inspection did not put me OOS either.
Can anyone shed some light on what he might have been referring to?
Was the broker just BSing?

Maybe he was talking about your iss score. You can view it in the fmcsa portal. I have no idea if brokers are able to view it.
rccarlson22 Thanks this. -
Edit: I see how it is calculated
Nowhere in here about 99% on HOS or anything for that matter -
https://ai.fmcsa.dot.gov/sms/helpfiles/iss_algorithm.pdf Are you sure you’re looking at the iss score and not the oos percentage?

I doubt he was bsing , he doesn’t get paid to turn drivers away but to hook drivers up. However maybe he could be looking at the wrong tabs wrong numbers etc etc.
