Well, I was turned down to get rehired by CRST. The dispatcher that my trainer had would not sign off on me, but safety and ops both did, so it was just the dispatcher. I called her and asked about it, and if their was any way to change her mind, and she was just a plain ##### about it.
So I am looking to get back OTR, and I think I have narrowed by choices down:
Schnieder
Us Xpress
Swift(I know)
Werner
Thing is, I have a kinda crappy record now, a 10 over in dec 06, and 2nd day out with a trainer, I hit a pole, that was a illegal turn ticket, but I am not sure if it was wrote up as an accident, the cop said he was just going to write me a ticket, and only did so because the pole was hit and he had to write up something.
I am not sure if my DAC shows abandonment, but I got off the truck at the terminal.
Any help from you guys would be greatly appreciated.
NOW if I could just change my username

Attention employers: We now require a valid DOT# for anyone wishing to post a driving position. If your job offer doesn't contain a DOT number, it will not get past moderation and will not appear in the forum. The other requirements in the sticky at the top of this section are still required as well. Thank you for understanding.

What you need to know is what exactly is on your DAC record. Look in this forum for info on getting that information:

I figured I would update this thread and let everybody know that CRST did rehire me after I talked to the head of dispatch. I am at orientation now.
-
Awesome news....I hope you will be happy! -
I hired on with Barr Nunn out of Iowa .Took the tree day orientation from hell .stay in motel from Sunday night until Wednesday then they tell me they have a truck but was towed in and dirty.so they out me in motel until Thursday .mid day comes around and still no truck .I call them Thursday evening said would have truck Friday.... Well they paid for motel but that was it. No food allowance.Friday evening about 4 O'Clock got truck .They give you a sign on bonus of 750.. If you leave before 90 days they deduct it out of your last check. And they say what they don`t collect they ding your DAC and Credit . I stayed about 99 days and quit. They could not give me any more than about 2100 a week afar cry from the 2700 they said you would average.out of 5 days running I spent about 2 days sitting. They have been sending me emails for rehire. After I replied last week they are to lame or sorry to respond so I put Barr Nunn right at the top of worst company's also.Right before leaving them my truck stay in the shop at Nashville for one week having a new cylinder head installed under warranty. Guess what I never even got any reimbursement for taking there piece of #### to the shop.So maybe its best if you look to a fresh company
-
CRST certainly isnt the best company out there, but what Barr Nunn did to you sir surely cant be held against CRST? -
I completely understand what he was trying to say. If you come back as a rehire.... well, you did leave the company before, thus you're a rehire. The reasons you left the company are still going to be there. Just because you've gotten rehired isn't going to change the way the company operates.

I've seen enough of Gainey and Barr-Nunns in the ditches here in Northwest Arkansas (heck, a Gainey nearly hit a lumber store!) to make sure you check your equipment REGULARLY.
-
With Barr Nunns, it's more than likely a tired driver that caused himself to go into a ditch. The truck I had with them was fairly new, although prone to phantom check engine lights, ran pretty good. Dispatch, however tried to run me into the ground. I left and went back to my previous company rather than keep running like that.

Dang, when I went thru orientation with them they had a whole slew of new trucks sitting at Granger, wonder how you got so lucky? The one I got didn't even have 200,000 on it yet. But could never get that wonderful cruise on the stick to work.
Oh and about the miles, I hear ya. With the company before Barr Nunn, I usually ran between 2700-3000+ miles per week, and when I had the "get to know you" chat with my dispatcher, I told her I expected the same from them. The look on her face told me that wasn't going to be the case. I was told to expect about 2200 and be glad I got that. I lasted three weeks before I had them route me back to Granger to turn in thier truck. Went back to my previous company, and now I'm getting the miles I need, and doing it in a brand new truck.
