Micro management issues. Rules... then rules to cover those rules... then rules to cover those rules... then more rules to cover all those rules.
Rules that conflict rules & then... rules to cover those rules..
Its a never ending process. If you dont eventually quit, they fire you... Micro management... rules..
Again, daily ads... dont take my word for it... just look for yourself. The daily ads are right there.... every day. There is a reason for it.Western flyer, rcelmo and KB3MMX Thank this. -

That's very true, water management is a horrible horrible company to work for.
I used to do contractor work at their sites and personally seen the crazy micromanaging they do to their employees.
It's a wonder there aren't more workplace shootings at their company!
Waste Management sucks !!Caterpillar6nz and Grumppy Thank this. -
I was a foreman for WMI, Los Angeles in 1988 & 1989.
Offenses are kept on file, but held against employees for a year from the date of the offense,
3 offense in 5 months or 4 in 6 month are enough for termination.
They have to be the same type of offense like safety does not affect a attendance problem,
like if your late twice then have a you have a safety issue such as improperly exiting a vehicle, these will not be a cause of action, but if your late to work again your gone.
That being said if your one that follows rules well and your not late (a biggie there) you can do well. -
Everything that was said is true, I use to haul walking floors to one of their landfills and let me tell you they were some of the most miserable people I ever had to work with when I went there. The scale guy even said hey do you want a job? We lost 3 drivers this morning. One quit the other one was fired for forgetting to chalk his wheels on the working face of the landfill while he opened the door of the can.
And the last one was fired for not using three points of contact when he got out of the truck. A unmarked car saw it and reported him. Waste management is no joke you are very easily replaced. And it can happen in a blink of an eye what the other drivers said is true heed there warning. But if you need a job then you have to do what you have to do. I would look into other smaller companies that have roll off trucks. Good luck -
Hey didn’t want to start a new thread but had a couple questions.. I was hired for a roll off driver with no experience and just want to know what to expect. The trucks are all fairly new they run a galbreath cable hoist, they have auto tarpers, in cab controls. Most work is in the Washington DC area just looking for what to expect pros and cons of being a roll off driver and how easy is it to get use to the controls

I know you will think I'm being flip, but really what you will need to know they will teach you. Anything I tell you here that does not match could get you in trouble.
rolloffs, corner slow, Level ground when your going to raise the bed, like dumping in the landfill, Dont take short cuts. After you get a month in check back.
