Depends what part of the country your in, here I think the trainers are about 20 bucks an hour, there mainly to teach you hoe to use the equipment more than drive the truck, At least that was my experience as a Foreman in Sun Valley, CA.

I'm curious, WM is hiring near me for CDL truck driver but doesn't specify for exactly what that is?

Most jobs they have posted in other areas say Driver Residential, Driver Commercial, or Roll off Driver. Any idea what "Truck Driver" actually is for them?

I was thinking transfer trailer but the position only requires a Class B so it can't be that...

Generally speaking, the new hires are for residential, the work their way up, but that's not always the case. Sometimes, they hire new drivers for front-end load and roll-off.
It maily depends if it's a small office/division/location, or a large metro location.

Waste Management hires drivers as a laborer, You can hire into what ever they are needing, Roll Off, Front Loader or Residental. I was a Construction Service foreman for WMI Sun Valley off Tuxford near the landfill in SunValley back in the day (back in the 80's) my crews did everything from welding on bins to installation of temp power poles on jobe site, or temp fensing, just depended what need to be done, there were days when my guys would go help out with roll offs, or delivering trash cans. Just what ever is needed.

    JonJon78 Thanks this.
