Is TAG Logistics in your area? They hire inexperienced and train for your cdl.
Another option get your cdl and look at garbage and such. Pays decent usually.

Or if considering moving, look at alberta and the oilfied service companies. I know guys that are hired on from out of province, and move here, company housing, and cdl training to alberta class 1 melt.

Companis like Sanjel, Trican, etc. Call and talk to them. You'll work your butt off, but they pay well and you get the train8ngnpaid for as well. With Sanjel it used to be you had to stay 6 months after getting your cdl. No big deal.

The reality of CDL driver from Quebec has always been that most of them work long-haul, often outside of Quebec. You will always find Quebecois drivers on the American Interstates, even on the west coast; just turn your CB to canal deuce (channel 12) and you'll find them! Of course, years ago during the remote hydro dam Manic projects, there was always work up there, but I think that's all finished now.

FWIW, if you are only earning 35k CANADIAN a year, especially in Quebec with the higher provincial tax rates they have, I'd probably be looking elsewhere to make money. You will find that fully 1/3 of the people living in Toronto are Francophones by birth. My own great-grandfather decided to leave Quebec more than a century ago...

Have you tried smaller, local companies? A knock on a door and a handshake usually go further than an online application. They might even give you some advice or an opportunity to get your foot in the door at least.

Think about it: someone has to be hiring new drivers, how else would companies requiring 1-2 years ever find anyone?

Well I kinda sympathize with you. Was working for CFI and had a load of auto parts going to deliver up in CAN and then when I hit Detroit they said that they were on strike and plant closed down up there. I had to set under that load for a good 6 days cause they kept saying 'nothing available' but those loads from out of CAN would go to Mexico so I could dump them in Laredo, those were some decent runs.

    mind_masta and Albertaflatbed Thank this.
