Hey JonDC70
The post offer interview is to go over the job conditions one final time. The interview is given by the head of the Safety Dept. and she basically asks you if your aware of being on the road for weeks at a time, or that there may be some lifting or unloading of trucks, and if you had any further questions. Stuff like that. The interview was only about 15 minutes. No big deal really.
After that, they will start to make your travel arrangements and settle the final paperwork.

Jon .... that's some good news I wanted to here. I hope it's that way for everyone.WingRider Thanks this. -
Wow I have missed out on a few posts here. Lets see if I can remember some of the questions. Oh, at my physical they did check my heart rate but that was by the nurse and before the doctor check up part. He did the usual looking in my ears, nose, listened to my breathing and heart beats. He even had me do the old "turn your head and cough" thing I haven't done since the Navy. After that was over I went in and did the lifting, pushing and the carrying around of a box with 70#.
I haven't had the post interview yet. From what I was told it sounds exactly like Johnny says. What? They expect me to be out for over 8 hours at a time? Oh thats it, I am out!
I will be heading there with my wife. I was told that I'll be reimbursed for my gas used which will be the $ amount of the bus ticket. That will be easier to take my sleeping bag and stuff.
I have a blog site and I'll be updating the class as I go along.

This is Montana, You have to go to the Blacksmiths shop to get tools made
Ha. Just kidding. I went to Home Depot and got a Converter for my LAP TOP and hope I can use it when I get my own truck.
Does anybody know if the Bunk House has Wi Fi
Did you get a Tools list to work from?
I have Roll A Way full of tools and will load up my truck when I get it.

That will be good your Blog site, please let us know the link.
How far will you be driving to get there?
I thought about that but then if I got my truck when school was done I would have no way of getting my Nissan home. Bonnie said I could take it from here to the Vegas Terminal and Grayhound from there and that way I would have it at the Terminal closes to home. -
I have to drive about 500 miles from Vancouver, WA to Missoula. My wife wanted to take me so she must be glad to get rid of me.
I guess I forgot to link my blog. It was mostly used for family stuff and somewhere for me to vent. The website is just raakkos dot com. I can't put a link in here cause I haven't done 20 posts yet. I am sure you can figure it out from there. I will be updating stuff on there from school and my overall experiences with Watkins Shepard.
I wish we knew for sure if we get a truck in Missoula. I was told that it is very likely but not confirmed. If we knew for sure then you could drive your Nissan if not. I figure that if I don't get one I'll ride grayhound back. Unless the wife wants to pick me up.
Arkie, I have a AT&T Cingular USB card for my PC but I don't have a laptop. What class are you going to? I could bring it to class for someone else to use on their laptop though. I don't think I should lug my PC tower to Missoula LOL.

Ok on the drive by your wife.
I remember when I retired I didn't want any big to do party and ended up with 3 of them. I asked the people from a section I used to manage why they gave me a party.
One told me to make sure I didn't change my mind.
My parents took me to the induction center for the same reason.
I have a LapTop and I asked Bonnie this morning if they have Wi Fi and she said yes and they also have a computer in the Lounge for everybody to use.
That sounds good to me
I hope to be in the Nov 26th class
I would like to know about the truck also. If I can't get one from school I would drive up myself. Last Grayhound ride I took I was in the back seat and got waked up when the bus went off the road into the grass medium, I looked up and the driver just came awake, shook his head and pulled us back onto the road right before a big cement embankment.
I don't sleep when someone else drives anymore and that is why I will not team drive.
ArkieKahne Thanks this.
