Truckers Report should have a place on the site we can post where we are. That way, we can meet some of the people we chat with on here.
We do have 'What's your 20' but that limits us to those in our company. With the large membership on the site, I'm sure several of us are at the same truck stop but don't even know it.
Maybe we could do something like:
Pilot: I-465 Exit 4 Drivers (9)
then if we move the mouse over it...we can see whose over there.

I agree, it would be nice to help people meet each other face-to-face, but I'm having trouble imagining a way to implement this that wouldn't leave it open to abuse by spammers and lot lizards.
MACK E-6, Straight Stacks, horsecrazychic22 and 4 others Thank this. -
I got an idea on how to solve that problem.
How about using the the number of stars the member has ? Truckers Report can use the members number of stars like a credit score.
For example, I have 3.5 stars. I'm not exactly sure how I got it but I'm guessing that maybe its done by number of posts & the number of thanks I've given & gotten. The fact that I've lasted here this long shows that I'm not a spammer, lot lizard or a trouble maker.
Make it only visible to members with 2, 3 or more stars.
We would be the only ones who its visible to. They say life on the road is lonely...this would be one step to making it less. A nice perk to those members who have been active on TTR.Last edited: Oct 9, 2013

Admin,
What do you think about my solution ? -
We actully had the reputation meter turned on back in the day and people abused it, because of differing political views. The stars have nothing to do with reputation here, only post count. And many people here that have high post counts are activly involved in what we call "Social" threads.
What you have spelled out here, is a programming night mare, and the software isn't built to just push a button and make that happen. And most likely a very costly one.
We've had many members here that have used at least one of the "where are you" threads and sucessfully met up with other members on the forum. There are several of them on the forum, some are company specific, and some are just general for everyone to post in.
This one is just general, and not company or specific to any load type, etc.

Started a thread that members can post where they parked for the night. Seems to be a success. Met a few people so far. Here is a link:

I was at the fuel island at kwik star Brooklyn iowa Sat afternoon
truck in front of me was another member from the forum
we didn't figure it out until an hour later
when I called him to ask how to log the time change
of course he was going east as I headed west...................sighhorsecrazychic22 Thanks this. -
A couple(?) years ago there was a push to get TTR T's, baseball caps, whatever but of course that idea died. (Yeah Yeah) I know.."That" has already been covered..
Maybe if I can get Sam to assure me he wont sue for infringement rights I'll just get my own TTR baseball cap. Wait.. Sue me for what? No problem there..
