So, life is pretty decent…things are going well with the fuel tanker job at my new outfit etc. But I’m interested in starting the possibility of running some small dumping on the side.

Given the idea that there’s a bunch of farms in Michigan, a guy at the ethanol rack suggested running fertilizer from OH/IN area to here, and on the back end possibly getting some runs from those farms to ethanol conversion facilities etc.

I guess to start with, I’m looking for a small way to make an entry into this sort of thing.

What relationships should I establish first? The end customer (farmer) or the supplier?
Would renting a dump be a feasible initial move? Or what would be the ideal set up just start out? Is dealing with farmers a handshake deal sort of a thing more than on paper contract?

Just sort of something I’d like to do on a Sunday or something. Maybe get a chance to get my son used to seeing real work lol.
