The Kroger and Walmart around here still have bare shelves. Nobody going hungry but selection is way back of precovid.

Everything else is going up in price. Tires, fuel, repairs, parts etc. I look for loads going where l want for good rates. There is always one popping up, (other carrier falls off, etc.) Don't find one? Let the freight sit on the dock.

So with everything else going up so should our rates. It's as if a group got together and started putting it in our heads to expect lower rates. You got Rutherford (probably laughing and drinking champagne at a broker convention right now) starting off The Power Hour March 12th IIRC with this same news. Like what does that have to do with tech and mechanical calls? Then folks posting it here, Freightwaves posting graphs and charts and all the sudden nearly every load goes down on the boards. Not gonna say conspiracy but, it's Aliens! /s

Load prices are never based on inflation. They are based of truck capacity and load volume. The loads that come on load boards are mainly extra stuff that contracted carriers cant cover and with the low volume right now they are covering mostly everything. They only thing keeping the rates close to 2.5 to 2.8$/miles is the fuel surcharge i.e .80c/m right now. Between low load volumes, new entrants, loose truck capacity and china shutdown i think we are looking at the tip of iceberg right now .
