Hey
It’s his story
He can tell it anyway he wants
It’s all true tho
I was in Albert Lea. Some guy was telling another he gets $6-7 pm
I didn’t say anything until he said who he was leased to
A company I used to be so I said. How are you getting that? I was there and they had nothing like that
he goes. Well….Well….??!!!
I had a load that paid like $1200 on 90 miles
Ok
Banjo math
We can officially call it the floor of rates

well lets do the math again for 2023 if you drive 99k miles at 1.70 avg ur making 168k and i bet your expenses are gonna be the same ..
so guess you now doing around 55k take home profit for the year as O/O for running cheap jesus ... why don't u work at Walmart then better at least u get health insurance and benefits.. and don't have to deal with all the O/O BS and the headache
im not O/O at the moment im driver right now and i just left my company bec they been cutting down on the rates and i get 35% from the gross and i decided my time is more valuable than making 70-75 cents a mile..
i can tell you just a driver i walked away last year 2022 with 120k in my pocket driving only 9.5 month out of the year and 137k 2021 working 10 month out of the year .. from my experience if you run at the rate your getting now you wont survive 2-3 years like this and i can tell you for a fact this wont end in 2023 its probably dragging till mid 2024 ..
im rethinking going back to oil fields as oil prices are still worth it and i can put my tanker experience back to work..
Best of luck allAnother Canadian driver Thanks this. -
And just to add spice to the story .. so my fleet owner before i decided to leave asked me to spec 5 pete 579 brand new .. so long story short i spoke to Rush in FL where i had my truck getting repairs, so anyway my owner had 6 mil line credit from paccar and also offered to pay the 2 out of 5 trucks in cash so the rep told me 255k per truck mind you this was in feb 2023 .. so he said let me take out stuff out of the build and they only dropped it to 234k mind you that per truck for 5 trucks ( with no ISX but Paccar no led lights no bunk beds) .. and i kept asking are u guys nuts do u see the markets how that even possible markets are crashing and u guys are raising prices .. his simple answer is supply and demand and he was saying these trucks won't be delivered till nov 2023 or even jan 24 mind you that almost 1 mil transaction ..i know we only putting 500$ down per truck but come on .. i asked him maybe some customers wont take there trucks bec i see the markets crashing more.. he said no way we are booked all the way.. i was like cool i will wait for your call and ofcourse he looked me like im retarded ..
so i went straight to my owners and i told him my advice don't buy trucks now bec you guys are getting screwed and i believe truck prices are gonna drop like a rock .. plus i see the business overall crashing for spot markets.
anyways guess what 3 weeks later by first of march this year the rep called me and told me hey man i found a good deal for you someone didn't take 8 fully loaded trucks which at the time they wanted close to 270k with these specs and the ISX 15 he offered them for 190k and we refused ..
guess what today is march 9 and i got a call for 180k with no fees .. hahaha
lets goooo its starting now imagine whats gonna happen in the next 2-3 month when all these carriers don't take any of there trucks ordered that they only put 500$ to get ..
funny at the time same rep was trying to sell me 2021 pete 579 with 300k miles for 145k now brand news 23 for 180k out of the door .. just in 1 month ..
i already see used trucks and trailers down the drain and dropping hard 50% drop from just 1-2 month ago so i see trucks going back to Covid levels where no one is buying and every lot is full and these suckers are begging us to buy ..
i think this will happen in spot market also after all these mega carriers take out all the little guys that are eating bread crumbs till then only the smart and people that planned ahead will survive ..Another Canadian driver, Rideandrepair and DUNE-T Thank this. -
