We have hit the floor with rates

Florida Loads, thru cheap haul robusome, leaving state at $.53 cpm at 44.5K 6 years back and people were jumping on them.
There will ALWAYS be someone that will pull a load regardless of "pay offer".
(thinking it's those folks that fall for the "trucker strike" game)

 

Be further ahead just parking it. Even if it covers fuel its not covering your wage and wear on the equipment.

 

Certainly wish everyone well, but it is a long way to the bottom yet.

I'm not real sure why anyone thinks a posted rate is the rate it will move for. Some brokers won't move and I say thanks and hang up and move on but I get a lot over the 'posted' rate every day.

Mostly to me the insultingly low rates like that one just bookmark in my mind to never work with that broker, but I still believe the load will probably move for more than what they have posted.

 

The industry rapidly changes. Middle eastern and african folks are taking over. They'll be happy making 100 bucks of that load. Or maybe 50.

 

Not true. None of them are owners, just drivers. Now they do seem to be happy making .40cpm though. Most of the newer owner ops are Eastern European or Sikh and they are by and large shrewd businessmen. You can see this easily by the condition of the trucks.

 

I am an Eastern European and you can't be more wrong about it. They might cheat on you, but they don't work for cheap. I don't know the Sikh.
