Becomes more interesting and interesting
Well it’s my first year in the industry but I no gonna work for free. I got some savings to park my truck for at least 6 mo with no much pain and just wait.
I don’t get why people keep taking anything cheaper $2 per mile. Today brokers told me that 1.5 per mile is an average rate from Phoenix. I’m curious what is the cheapest then…. ?![]()
We have hit the floor with rates

It may be a partial but someone just entered it wrong?
A part would make sense but if in fact it is a full truck then noAnother Canadian driver Thanks this. -
Almost all of the Eastern European, Indian/Sikh drivers I see, except the young ones driving the crap I spoke of above, take care of their trucks and are passionate about this business. Nice equipment, good drivers, clean show and are shrewd businessmen.
Anyway, that's what I see from my seat.Brettj3876, DeereRunner97, Another Canadian driver and 4 others Thank this. -

But I have personally argued…. Or strongly discussed with people on this very forum as to why they take $1 PM loads
One guy in particular lives in Phoenix and his belief is that the $1 he hauls it for makes sense because it covers fuel to get to a better place
In doing so he takes money off my rate when I’m in phoenix trying to get out as they already know they can get it done for a $1 from this idiot and those like him
This mentality will eventually make all places a $1 due to those doing the same but I hope they go bankrupt before that happens
I hope this particular guy finally has it happen to him to wherever it is he lands for that better rate
I hope he eventually gets there to grab that same $1RubyEagle, exhausted379, Another Canadian driver and 2 others Thank this. -
If I'm going into a junk area I demand my rate going in to cover my deadhead out.
$1 a mile to cover fuel? How about losing many hours in docks and extra wear on your truck.
It's not worth it.Another Canadian driver, pavrom and GYPSY65 Thank this. -
Funny how so many thought the $5.00 a mile dry van rates would last forever and overpaid for equipment based on those fantasyland thoughts...
