Long story, but not a bad one. Still brokering, but have a side business doing some good in the world. The run up to, and eventual starting of that basically occupied my spare time since basically May of last year, when I'm not spending time with the wife and now two kids. We had a second boy in November. Been really good, though.

    Thanks man. Appreciate it!

I'll try to be less of a ghost. No promises, lol. Just an absolute lot of stuff going on for me right now.

Just do business the right way and not worry about everyone else. If it works then you are doing ok, if not then you need to try something else. Relying on others to make money is not a business plan that is gonna work.

Supply vs Demand is the only thing that matters on the spot market.

I do that at least twice a day! It is actually somewhat soothing.

Loads are $2 a mile because many are hauling for $2 a mile.

Brokers and shippers are not the problem, it's the cheap freight haulers.

You'd be amazed when loads are not being covered how much more money suddenly appears.

I have to agree on the $$ suddenly appearing.

Had a broker call me 7 times wanting me to haul out of Ky to WV. When I told him I would not deadhead that far for his offer he suddenly ask what my price was to get that load covered. Fortunately I opted to load 6 miles from the house for a crane company, ya don’t have to jump on the 1st thing you see….

Good possibility he was going to try and swing the, "I have a truck for you at X rate," tactic with his customer.

Sometimes that works, and sometimes shippers tell you, "nah, keep looking."
