I would imagine that most if not all companies will not allow weapons in their trucks or on the property. Are there drivers that carry? You bet. If I were to carry I would definitely keep it to myself cause someone will slip up and say something to someone.

Get caught go to jail.
Whats it worth to you? -
Never worked for Schneider, but Ill go out on a limb and guess that carrying any type of weapon in your truck is immediate grounds for termination. Seems like a no brainer type question to me lol...
Same goes for booze drugs and hookers. der der der -
Fortunately for me I can legally carry anywhere in the U.S. without a problem.

Would a pepper spray be considered a weapon? How about a small camping knife? A steering wheel lock makes a great defense weapon imo.
-
But isn't it illegal in a CMV? And you can't carry concealed or otherwise, if it's against a company policy, or private property owners, or certain other places, arenas. movie theatres, and banks come to mind.
That is unless you're some type of LEO.
Yes, SNI has a no weapons policy, meaning basically, no guns. I don't recall pepper spray/mace being mentioned.
Now if you're going to Canada, you better not have any type of weapon, and yes, that includes the spray repellents as well.

Substitute the Pepper spray, with Wasp Spray. The kind that kills nest from up to 20 feet
Pepper spray has a shorter effective distance, unless you get the Bear size deterrent can
No one will think twice when they see the can of wasp spray.
Be advised...there can be legal ramifications for using it though.
Just be sure to drive off, after you fill someones eyes full

a flare gun would work as well--i think you are ok carring that

I don't know who originally came up with this, bit this is a really bad idea for all concerned. IMHO, might as well carry a ramset, they fire a nail with a 22 charge.
Personally I like my Star 9mm auto. The place I work on a regular basis are some of the most beautiful in the world, However I carry a 9mm because of the wild life not for people. I don't play games with it, I don't brandish it, And you would certainly never know up was there unless cornered by something with no other way out. I do not advocate what or if other driver should take preventive actions. I do encourage them to think there decision thru.
Canada, No Sense of Humor about guns, none, no tolerance, same with military bases. When they ask the first time tell them what you have, give to them when ask, and pick it up on the way out. Or better yet do not even try. I have checked my 9mm at Police Station on the occasion of having to go into Canada. Military Bases provide a lock box for your cameras, weapons and communications devices, use them you will not enjoy the consequences if they catch you, and with the military there is no question if you can get searched.
Don't be stupid, a commercial vehicle is not the time or place to fight for your rights to carry. Do you homework at home, and be very careful on your decision. If your going to carry, think it out, buy your gun, get your ccw, and do your homework.
There is another thread were this is covered extensively. Use your head the goal is we all want to get back home.
