Can someone please help me out here, I have a 1995 379 pete with, of course, a 3406E and my question for you guys will running a weather front, to help keep up engine temp. hurt anything. The reason I am asking is I have been told buy different mechanics that it could cause my turbo to go bad.

I've run a winter front on a c-15 for 5 years , no problems yet. I don't even put it on unless high temps are under 30f. And never close it up tight.
The exterior bug screen in the summer is priceless . -
If you haul heavy, or in the hills/mountains, restricting the air that can pass over your CAC will reduce it's ability to be efficient, and reduce your performance. No real need for one unless the temps are in the teens or lower, or you are sitting still.

I haven't run a 3406 since '81. 375?squeezer. Don't remember ever running with a winter front , though I only ran swinging from Ne. and Des Moines East.
Long as it's got the center cutout , I'd think you'd be fine. I'd watch the temps if it was a warm day, though.
The old engines are the best , IMO ! -
if you use it right you will be ok. I would recommend installing a pryo gauge( needle installs in exhaust pipe by turbo 2 wires in cab mount gauge and wire up) this way you can watch the exhaust temp and you water temp and oil temp. dont let the exhaust go to high. i try to stay below 1100 even though alittle higher is ok i prefer lower.....

how cold have u ran in and what is your temps runnin at when its cold? ive got a 95 kw w9 big open front with same motor i can run in 0 degree weather with no front and water temp holds at 185, my heater will roast me outa the cab. i was gonna put one on last winter but saw no need with my cat. my prev truck had detroit, couldnt stay warm in that pos.

Freind runs 1 on his pete with a 6nz and has no issues. He takes it off when temp gets around 40 degrees. That truck will not build temp below 40 unless he puts the winter cover on. I have owned 4 cats and never had an issue with getting heat. My 95 cat E model i run now runs 175 to 180 al day long. cold or hot out.

You won't hurt it at all. Just remember to keep the center open, and don't just pull down one corner or it'll be too much strain on the fan hub,
