Running from a hurricane with an empty van trailer.

Went by a tornando that was forming. Also getting in a downpour so hard you only see a few feet past the the hood.

Went through the 2004 hurricanes in Orlando, Hurricane Fran in NC, 2 snowstorms in NC, and at least one icestorm in NC and that's just as an adult. Grew up in Tampa so that covers childhood from the 60's on. (Geez, I'm getting old!) Almost every time I was home with kids and animals while hubby was on the road somewhere else in the country. Something not right about that!

Tornado scares in Kansas were the worst for me.
Thankfully, I decided to pull over and let hubby take over once it got light outside. Lucky I did, about 3 miles up the road a tornado had gone through and either blew a herd of cows all over the interstate or the winds tore down the fence letting the cows out, who were immediately hit by cars/trucks. Yuck!
There are also those scary nights through Wyoming when a blizzard goes through... We always seems to be carrying only 3K in the box those times too!Buckeyefor88 Thanks this. -
Thats crazy i bet the cows were a sight

Tornado warnings popping up in the counties your heading through in the middle of the night while its pitch black out. Cant see if ones in front of you or coming up from behind and cant decide if your better off stopping or just going for it. I went for it and made it, was running up 57 in IL and found out how lucky i was after i got north of Mt Vernon and started seeing more trucks than i could count laid over all the way up to Effingham and north of that. That was the last time i played dodge the tornado in the middle of the night.

driving through kansas pulling a van trl. with only 2500 pounds of det.cord in a crate.so windy we seen the day light under trl tires. later told if we had tipped with that much cord we would have blew up the road both ways.

Was in the asian Tsunami in 2005, chennai in India. would have got on my motorcycle but it was checking out some starfish about 200m offshore right then. The best part was watching this irish Buddhist dude come unglued as his motorcycle got washed away also (thought they where supposed to be non materialistic?)
Worst thing in a truck, just rain, rain and more rain in Ireland, some snow in Poland and Cheq republic then back to the rain. Getting withdrawal here in California.
