Live in Syracuse ny and temps overnight range from single digits too 20s. I sleep at home so this is only to help start the truck park my 07 frieghtliner century with a Detroit where there is no power. Last winter I had a power source and plugged block heater in, but it still wouldn't start if I didn't start it in middle of night when temps were single digits. I would have to jump the batteries(4 yrs old) for 15 minutes and then it would start.

So would a webasto allow the truck to start every morning and will the batteries still need a jump? I suppose I could get new batteries if needed but this only happens when temps in single digits

Sounds like you need batteries more then anything. And yes a webasto would be a great addition. But batteries first

A good set of batteries and that truck should kick right over. That heater you posted will only keep the cab warm, won't help keep the engine warm and will just drain the batteries. if you get one that keeps the coolant warm you may want to go with some deep cycle batteries and possibly a start module like this one. It will whirl that truck over no matter how cold it is. Maxwell Technologies Ultracapacitors, Supercapacitors, Microelectronics and High Voltage

You just need 12v . That heater only needs about an hour to run before you start the truck. It will come with a timer that you set to come on before you get to the truck.
Yes it draws power but very minimal and if your batteries are good to begin with it's a non issue.

Just get 4 new batteries from your local pete ,kw or WS dealer. They will get you what you need.

I'm going to get batteries...but a thermal heater will save me alot of headache and worry when it's really cold. I cant use the block heater either or I'd try just new batteries
