I have called a few companies now after researching them on their website and they do not have what they are offering online. I am still not finding many companies outside of Swift, Werner, U.S Express, Knight and England here in Vegas. The only one that sounds okay is Werner and all the stories on here are discouraging to say the least. Schneider sounded good but they are located in California. if anyone knows something I dont please fill me in. I would greatly appreciate it

From the truckers I have talked to in person, not the internet and the few times I have been to there yard to pick up overflow freight, I personally think US Express the best of the bottom feeders you mentioned. If you watched the forum long you know there are 2.5 hardcore Swift recruiters which will try to chew your wallet to pieces. I will agree Swift is better than CRengland from what I have heard from truckers on the road not the internet. But thats as far as my knowledge goes. Werner I feel does have some strong points among there many many weeknesses. There are alot smaller than swift, they dont push as hard for team drivers as Swift, better communication with there dispatch and from the drivers I have talked to from both companies there dispatch seems to put more effort into each individual drivers needs. Knight is just a hair better than CRengland but not much, my opinion is Knight is pretty much tied with swift.

I called Gordon Trucking today and they were the first nice individuals I have spoken to thus far. They have a western route which would not take me very far and sounds awesome. If all goes well in trucking school I think I may have found the right company

all that will accomplish is them sending you a "pre-hire" letter or post card...which means, "that means jack"..

it's the ACTUAL job offer that counts.

pre-hire is a quick process that well, pre-screens potential employee's..

so the decision to attend school or not as you wait for those pre-hire letters is going to put you behind as others actually DO GET HIRED when they graduate. you'd want to get hired ASAP and start driving before any winter weather comes along, to gain some experience NOW..

Well I will attend school in May. I am in no rush whats so ever. As I have read before and done my research they have more jobs than they do trucks now. I am pretty certain with two college degrees and a masters, clean driving record, my EMT Intermediate I wont have any trouble obtaining a job with any company of my choosing. Some may find school challenging I believe that I will be just fine. That may sound a bit conceded but I have earned it. I hear enough negative as a teacher I would like to think people can ne a bit more positive. I will be glad to recieve a pre hire notice or a postcard. THANK YOU !

Good, then throw me a bone once in a while. Ill stay in touch with them throughout the process and see how it pans out. Its good to know someone at least cares to communicate. I have sent out plenty of emails and left plenty of voice mails and never heard back. I should be somewhat excited when a company not trashed on here communicates with me.

I really don't think that your Masters will mean much to a Company as far asna drivers position is concerned. Your Non CDL driving record and how many jobs you have had will be a big determination to them. I didn't have no Collge degree when I got onto the industry, but was retired Military. The commpanies couldn't care less. If you have the same driving qualifications as a student yes your masters will help you. The hiring standards are all driven by the insurance company.
