Weigh station not open but...

    I've noticed from time to time when I'm taking a short break at a Weigh Station that's not open I will see a Tractor Trailer drive right through and go immediately right back on the highway..

    Is there companies that require their drivers to go thru them even if they're closed..❓

    There were open places to stop as I was the only one parked there.

    It wasn't one of those rest area/weigh station places...at least it's not "advertised" as a rest area.

    ((In case you were curious It's an I-90, I -495. Massachusetts type pull off. No scale house. No Building))

    I've done that when, for whatever reason, I missed the sign that says open/closed. Just go in to be on the safe side, see it was closed and keep rolling. Beats the alternative of blowing by an open one and getting fined.

    I know you are supposed to pay attention and not miss the signs. But, sometimes traffic requires more of your attention for a second or two at the wrong time.

    I've had this happen. Sign says closed but I'll get red light on pre pass. Don't want to risk it.

    1) Some people just aren't paying attention & dont know its closed
    2) Some people are new & dont know if they are supposed to go through or not
    3) some people dont have their glasses on & couldnt tell if the sign says "must enter" or "bypass"
    4) some people think its funny to just drive through cause its closed
    5) some people are hoping there maybe a lot lizard in there
    6) some people see your truck in there & are hoping YOU are a lot lizard
    7) some people see your truck in there & think since you were in there, maybe the light that says "bypass" is wrong
    8 ) some people see its closed & want to dart in, take a dump on the scale & drive away but then they see you in & just drive on through

    Well... I was.... parked there assuming my usual position....laying face down on the ground with my hands behind my back......

    Probably Thought best not to Skip it Lol
