Weigh station not open but...

the dumbest thing to do, imho, is to miss the weigh station sing/ramp and then park on a shoulder and walk 1000 yards with the document binder into the weigh station coop.

 

I've done this numerous times... what's the big deal in losing 1 or 2 mins to be sure you CYA?

 

Maybe,maybe not I remember around the year 2000 a trucker was pulled over for illegally bypassing a scale in the state of Louisiana and the Trooper wanted $2000.00 on the spot or surrender his load to the state.

 

The scale at the NM/TX state line in Texico right next to the Allsups still has one of those flip signs. I've never seen that done out here, but I'd hate to see what happens if the idea got around and was executed. Plenty of bored, school kids here whose parents can't afford PS4's or dirtbikes that will find some way to get their kicks in!!
