I was only truck on road, you know what I mean, and got a green light approaching a scale but as I got close the LED sign changed to 'TRUCK MUST ENTER SCALE from TRUCK CAN BYPASS SCALE...I entered the scale, to use the safer than sorrier thinking, but wondered if I had to...Did I?

That's funny, that may have been the scale!...I'm in Grand Bay, AL(on I-10) and it was on my way here yesterday...

walstib Thanks this.

If your prepass has a green light and the scale gives you a red light or says to come into the scale, then you are supposed to go into the scale. They usually just want you to drive through. That is one reason why I don't have prepass. If they want me to come in anyway, then I can save my money and just go into the scale. When in doubt, enter the scale.walstib Thanks this. -

Prepass trucks follow in cab signal.
This was discussed elsewhere if you get a red Prepass and the scale is closed. (I would go in.)
If you get a green on a weigh-in-motion scale your gross or heavy axle weight may prompt the sign to enter. However, Prepass own info guide says to disregard changeable message signs in AZ, LA, NE and WI.

I'm heading to Jacksonville in the morning....
