Weigh station questions

    They have a good idea who the ones are trying to do the outlaw trucking already so we should not be even trying to skate by them anymore, what is needed is for the drivers to unite and start doing away with the process that forces them to try to jam to many miles in on a load that was badly planned, it is the companies fault , not the drives fault for poorly dispatched loads forcing to drive over hours. You are playing hero for fools that are trying to get the most bucks out of you, then they just throw you to the side because another sucker comes along to play the game. Most of these loads have been done hundreds of times before, from and to the same places, if they can not figure it out yet it is time for them to go out of business.

    While what you say is true it may be the safer option to enter all open stations just in case you get a state confused
    In other words better safe than sorry.

    If your Prepass does not give you a green light or any light, go in. When in doubt it's safer to go in than take the risk. A lot of weight stations have an empty lane. If your Prepass turns red, and you are empty, it is okay to go into the empty lane. Other than the specified "empty" lane, I'm not sure how they know if you are empty or not. I am assuming they have a scale on the empty side as well even if you don't see the weight numbers on a screen. Usually a speed limit is posted as you are go into a weight station, and while approaching the scale. Sometimes the Prepass does not register the changed status of the weight station fast enough to relay the info to the truck driver. Not sure why that happens.
