My clutch linkage seems intermittently to be out of adjustment, ie it's partially engaged when pedal is near the floor preventing me from getting it out of gear without shutting engine off, slightly pulling truck when stopped in gear, and when out of gear the clutch brake doesn't work when pressed hard against the floor. Then it's all back to normal a few minutes later.
When this happens, the clutch still engages normally when I let it out, allowing me to pull out as usual. And the pedal feels normal.
It's happened a few times over the last couple of days, and I don't see any obvious problem with the linkage, or any way it could go out of adjustment that way then return to normal.
It's a 2007 KW T2000 with C15 and RTLO16913A.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance, Al

Most likely the torsion springs in clutch disc are coming apart. When a piece gets between disc or comes out of spring pocket it effectively engages the clutch until piece works way out from between discs. Might be able to get by for a bit but give yourself plenty of space pulling up to traffic....at some point it will get big piece in there and you wound be able to disengage it. Don't run somebody over.

mine recently did the same thing, the fix......was putting in a new clutch. it started out intermittent and very quickly like within a few hours became every time i pressed the clutch.

Driver sounds like it is clutch time! I wish you luck!

I agree with others, the torsion spring pockets can wear out letting the springs come out causing it to drag. Pulled the cover and look for pieces you'll usually find chunks of broken spring and pockets (part of the disks). Not something that you want to let go, I've seen them come apart and crack the bell housing, rare, but possible.

Thanks for all the responses, it looks like I'll have to get a clutch soon. Although the symptoms haven't reappeared since I posted, something (torsion springs?) coming loose and getting between the clutch plate and pressure plate (or flywheel) does seem to fit. I suppose I could hope that it was just a piece of crud or something, but I suspect I'll find out otherwise, since I have close to 700K.
Thanks again, Al -
Al^^
If it does you any good, I don't know the life of a clutch but I guess that with 700K you would be about the lifes span for that clutch, I'm not sure if that is premature or not but it doesn't sound like it. Find a trusted shop and have them take a look at it, It couldn't hurt, Be safe out there don't let that thing bind you up and you run over something or someone!.Al^* Thanks this.
