After leaving my fun to haul heavy equipment job for a shady owner with a voodoo pay scheme, I landed at small but reputable company who hired me on bc they just got a big contract and pay hourly plus OT.
The schedule is wild. 12 hour days, switching to 12 hour nights, with a full 7 days in a row off. All the while maintaining 4 pay weeks with two at 44 hours and 2 at 38.
That 7 days off has me thinking about Bluebloodhound, ProDrivers, and Innovative Drivers and their services.
One unnamed temp driver company said they can put me OTR with a Fed-Ex account for my weeks off but it's teams and its 1099.
What would you do with a free week if you were more interested in earning than sitting?
Weird schedule gives me a week off/ month: what to do- temp agencies?

Does your current employer require to know about other CDL jobs you hold?
Or is it like... here's my check book and keys to my house in Barbados, just clean up afterwards and have fun! -

It's illegal to work for two carriers at the same time.

I do believe the green book says you have to tell both employers your situation. Could be wrong on that one. Book is in truck, my ### is on the couch.JReding and Dave_in_AZ Thank this. -
I've already let them know that if there's OT available, give it to me. If there's none, I'll be moonlighting on my 7 off. -
Fyi if you google FMCSA moonlighting, a bunch of trucking companies called moonlight express pop up.Last edited: Jun 2, 2016

But I've never heard as such being illegal as long as you are within the hours of service rules.

Enjoy your time off. Or find a temp job in another industry. Don't burn yourself out.
