I'm just saying Allentown. It is the major terminal in that region. If I was to go back I go back with WEL, I'm just not sure I want to go back out on the road again.

I cant go into why I left though I wasnt happy with the miles too much. 5 weeks out my last run and didnt get 10000. I was OTR. I thought about north east regional but that area is murder. Seems they had me out that way alot. They dont have local where I live in NH.

Welp.... I drive for Wel and can tell you its a fine place to start and perhaps stay. I dunno anyone who can match the pay scale so rapidly. Not getting miles on local and reigional is a no-brainer with a refer company. One thing I can tell ya is that when your fresh with the company they dont really push you too hard.... they seem to ease you into it and see what you can handle. Been here 3 years now and can say that OTR is where its at, but even OTR has to run the multi stop reigional loads here and there. Its because they cant seem to keep the reigional drivers so OTR has to take up the slack. Few tricks to wel..... be a team player and take a crappy load here and there without complaining and show what you can do...... may start runnin your tail off. Keep in mind that alot of our freight is seasonal and can fluctuate throughout the year. I turn in 3k+ some weeks... sometimes 1.5k. Im sure if I stayed out more than two weeks it would stay higher. Just turned in 3k miles and will start heading home soon which will cut my next weeks turn-in by 3-4 days worth ending with about 2k.... could be worse.

Mr. Coinring... I'd like to say first without offending Thank You for your voluntary words. However, yoo sound as a sales man or a HeadHunter. Gotta say I haven't heard another driver pimping WEL as yoo. How do yoo make 3k miles in a week by docking multiple times for one truck-full? Don't take offense to my un-knowing and I'll admit Ignorance Is Bliss! I've already bought a painting that bled in my lap while docked 7 hours waiting for loading without seeing any kind o' detention compensation or even a knod o' thank yoo and cannot handle another wasted effort upon a bleeding painting.

I am no headhunter. In-fact... I may be on my way out soon. Just wanna try simething different.
First of all..... Im otr. Second, it helps living in TX as they have to get me out and then home. Third.. I dont always get 3k, but I dont always get 1.5k either. Fourth, my DM knows what the F he is doing and if yours dont (get it) its time to let the axe fall. Just my .02¢
Crap.... I even left for 5 months only to return because I realized it wasnt so bad to begin with. Like I said... its a great place to start and it could very well work out long term for sertain individuals. -
:smt03 I hear ya there. I was headed to WEL but didn't think they were shootin' me straight. And was really wanting to find someone who had it good with them. But everyone has it the same just different steering wheels... Oh well Rollin On
DenaliDad Thanks this. -
By the way... That smto3 is suppose to be a clapping smiley:smt038

WEL is a good company. I left but not because it's a bad place to work for. They are good people.
It's a truck life thats hard. -
I hear ya.... I left for a few months with a little piss and vinegar but later came to my senses. Realized most of my issues was just normal crap you will likely have to deal with anywhere. Wel has solved a few of my issues since also... like getting bills turned in. Now we have transflow and it solved a major issue I had.
