I had a friend, a good friend pull a tall load. He was running with a pole car up I 45 and hit a low bridge inTexas. Stupid mistake. They were supposed to ramp it. His pilot car was at the top of the ramp.
We had a former member here, great Man, 13 axle expert, that hit a bridge. He was the senior man here. Good guy.
Had the guy that mentored me remove his securement from a load, and a piece of a machine fell of and hit him and ended his history. The best driver I knew in my entire life. Dropped his guard for a moment and it was over.

I hope that I can finish my career without a bridge hit, or an accident, or getting killed.

The thing that REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAALLLLLLLLLLLLYYYYY pisses me off is that ol Pee Pants Pisser believes that he is my equal, because we are regulated the same and and have the same license. And every time he FUPS, you and I get talked down to. “Hey Six, this stuff we want to talk to you about is about Safety”

Why do they want to talk to you and me about safety when they are the ones that dumbed things down for Pee Pants to qualify? And they want to tell me how to be safe? Do you guys see these topics in the other forums? Complete and utter morons getting into the business but concerned with utterly moronic topics.

Who makes the best coffee? How can I keep the batteries charged if I play video games 20 hours a day? If I sleep for 2 hours a day, what do I do with the other 8 hours...pocketpool?

You’ve heard us talk about doing your very best every single day. You hear my guys talk about and discuss the regs in the green and white bible. We talk about customer service. Heavy Haulers are, for the most part extremely gentle on their trucks, because the more powerful the engine, the greater the chance the drivetrain will grenade if abused. We talk about trip planning. We talk about reading permits and provision sheets. We all agreed that IF someone has a load slide off the trailer, that driver’s ManCard is in jeopardy. They even have the Hall of Shame for all the guys that lost their ManCards. Owner ops or company drivers, we are all on the same page. We are all here to bring that A Game. We discuss and do things that Safety personnel don’t even know to ask.

...and yet, we are regulated the same with the least common denominator. Cattle prods and tattletales in trucks. I pulled a $160 million load, I have all kinds of security clearance and 3 decades safe driving with loads that have been 24ft wide, 215000lbs, and 17ft tall and 220ft long. But I am classified as a “truck driver”, the same as those stupid fat pHux you seein the YouTube videos doing stupid stuff. In their eyes, I am that USA driver that tried to do the u turn on the narrow 2 lane.

They are convinced that they can make me safer by having handholding sessions and using cattle prods. They will hire some college kid to sit at a desk to monitor me and Pee Pants. This is “safety” in action! But on the other hand, they are advertising trucks with APUs and satellite TV and inverters. The only things I do in a truck is DRIVE and SLEEP. I drive when it’s time to drive and I sleep when it’s time to sleep. I don’t need a big sleeper, or a TV. If I want to watch TV, I get out of the truck and go to a motel. If I have to drive, I am not going to be watching TV, I will be sleep. I run 11 straight. I used to run 14 straight.

Says the guys who can’t figure out how not to piss their pants. And one day, you guys are going to do something stupid, and some group is going to want to insure that every driver gets a minimum of 8 hours sleep. They will invent a buttplug that works in conjunction with your ELOG. Set your elog to sleeper, get into the sleeper, shove this plug in Uranus, and it puts you down for 8hours. What they’re going to have problems with is team drivers. They will have a team plug.

“Hey Roy, I’m going into the sleeper. You left a little residue on the plug....can you wipe that off for me?”
