Welcome to the forum, glad you found us and joined up. There's even a few threads regarding dump truck work going on now.

 

new member here, best website ever seen, most informative. my age is 51. just graduated from weatherford college truck driving academy in mineral wells, texas. wow, career change at my age. recently closed down restaurant that failed due to economy. married with 6 kids but only 1 left at home and he is a senior this year. wife might go to trucking school too. looking to get into the oilfields in texas, probably odessa area. its closest to where i live. any helpful hint on best companies would be a big help. waiting for call from shale trucking to drive water truck but i'm getting jittery due to lack of income. well, thanks ahead of time for any help i get.

Good day everyone,I am big daddy don and i am happy to be part of this web site.I hope to be informed as well as enertained by what i will learn from those who are more informed than i am .Ihave been an owner/operator for about twenty eight years and just reacently bought a 780 volvo 2006 yr model and am very disipointed in its performance.I look forward to as much information as i can get about my red lemon, it has a volvo 465 with/fuller tranny(autoshifter) and it is driving me nuts,also it is as i have heard from others,it is an electrical nightmare as well as a lot of air problems,I came here at thwe behest of my son for help from those of you with great knowlage andi wait for those replies.I too have a little knowlage,i have ran shipping containers for 18yrs as well as other types of freight also i have owned 3 other volvos of verious power plants all commins except for the current one which as i said is a volvo 465 vin12.Iwill be looking forward to all the posts in the future and will put my two cents worth in if it seems i need to but lets hope that isn't nessasary,after my recent purchase,its really been a year and a half ,my two cents worth may not be worth much,none the less its good to be among fellow truckers who share a lot of the same beliefs i do ,you know honor,trust and integerity,and a will to just do things the way they sould be done.
