Out of curiosity, I was perusing websites looking for companies that are hiring in my area. Of course I found several of the large companies that are on the bad company list here, but one company that was on there is one I've not heard much about - good, bad, or otherwise. So I went to their website, clicked on the drivers link and started to read up on what they had to offer. When I went to the "Driving Options" tab, here's what I found:
How ridiculous is that?? That last sentence tells me to move on.
Which company is this, you ask? Super Service Inc. out of Somerset, KY.
Well, at least they aren't lying on their website.

LOL I think you're overreacting there Crow.
Plus they probably have A/C -
I'm so jaded towards any carrier with more than 20 trucks that you may be right, Pharm.
I know what they are trying to say, but perhaps they could have worded it better.

Keep in mind that recruiters are salespeople. They are tryiung to "sell" you on working for their company and will say whatever it takes to get you. That being said, looks like some "truth in advertising" to me.
Be careful what you wish for, you just might get it. In abundance. (Note use of sarcasm here.) -
WOW!
What should they put on the their website to make you happy? "We will go out of our way to the point of losing customers and abandoning loads to make sure you get home on time, everytime!"
Doesn't really sound like a good business model to me.
Of course you would read that and pass on them too because you know they would be lying. Just goes to prove you can not satisfy everyone. Someone always has something to complain about.
I think their statement best sums up what a company SHOULD be doing for their drivers, realistically. -
No, LB, what I was expecting to see is that they would pay me $1500/wk regardless of how many miles I drove, with free benefits, 4 weeks paid vacation after 90 days, and a new truck every 200,000 miles. Sheesh.
All sarcasm aside, all I wanted to know was what sort of routes they have. Don't say, "We may not have what you want" until you've told me what it is you do have. Of course they want me to call them to find out what routes and hometime they have, which I don't want to do just yet. The minute I call their recruiting department, I'll feel pressured to get an application from them. That may be my own flaw, and if it is then so be it. Point is, I'm not in the position to make phone calls just yet.

There a couple of smaller outfits down here in GA that never need to advertise because drivers never leave them. They take care of their drivers. I even know of a couple in FL with lots of loads in and out of FL but they never need to advertise. -
They're just being honest, Scarecrow Dude. When you hire on with them and never get home, they will say "We never said we would get you home, only try to."
-
hey brian, i seem to remember hearing super service is owned by one of the BIG boys
-
Slogan for every company should be "While you won't get what you always want..." Too many drivers out here seem to think they run things. Not if you work for someone else you don't. Go try running your own business, with employees who expect everything on a silver platter. You'll see things and respect companies in a whole new light.
Ducks Thanks this.
