I applied with Wil-Trans last week and learned today they didn't accept me. The recruiter called me on Friday and said everything was looking good they just had to have the safety department look over my MVR. I then got a call by the recruiter later that evening saying that I had an excessive speeding ticket on December last year, which I put on the app. Here's the crazy part. The officer original clocked me at 51 but said he would put me at 49 in a 40 which is shown on my ticket. But when I pulled up the ticket he stated my actual speed was 61 on the section where they write the notes and comments as well as 6 POINTS ON MY LICENSE!! I went down to the DMV and even the supervisor noticed that the cop made an error. She reversed it and sent an email to Tallahassee noting the change that needed to be made and said the citation would only be 3 points. She also gave me a deposition stating the change which I faxed to Wil-Trans immediatedly when I left the DMV. I noticed I didn't hear back from Wil-Trans later that day so I called Monday and was told I wouldn't be accepted because the cop downgraded my speeding ticket! I could see if I was doing 61 in a 40 but it was the cop's error, it should have been 51! Even with all that proof I was still turned down! I know that there are plenty of guys with spotless records still looking for jobs, but man did I want this bad!! I have no CDL and Wil-Trans was probably my only hope with me living here in Jacksonville. Oh well, I guess thats how life goes. I hope the rest of you Floridians have better fortune getting jobs than I did.:disgust:
Well guys, I just got turned down by Wil-Trans

Your better off. Truck driving is going in the crapper. =)

To the OP sorry to hear that. I had the same problem back in 06. Got a ticket for 69 in a 55. It got reported as 24 over not 14 over to my home state. Made for some problems till I got DMV to correct it. -
Sorry to hear that, everything happens for a reason ! Might be just as well anyways, WilTrans would NOT be my first choce. How about Cypress, yeah I know, but it's a start, and it's close by. Just an idea.
2-3 times a year, I pull my credit report, MVR, DAC, just to stay on top of it.
Good Luck......................... -
^^^^Thanks man. As a matter of fact I'm going to give Cypress a call, I totally forgot all about them. Not only that, but like you mentioned, they are right in my backyard. I'm bummed out about Wil-Trans but I still have a lot of fight left in me. If I don't succeed then I'll at least know I gave it my best shot and move on to something else.

Look at this way, if the prospective company cant see the error, and still act like num nums, then your better off. you wouldnt like working for them in the long run. Consider it a blessing in disguise.
