I've got a double drop sitting at the house collecting dust if anyone needs to borrow it. Kind of the opposite direction from where u broke down at though. I'd be over there in a minute if I wasn't wrapped up in the company driver crapGumper, Gatordude, Big Road Skateboard and 3 others Thank this.

That gave me a flashback to the latter days of C&H... Seemed like half those Cold & Hungry hands had a specialized trailer of one sort or another hanging out in the weeds.JolliRoger, Gatordude, Feedman and 3 others Thank this.

The saga has grown to an end. I was able to get the truck delivered and just finished fixing it yesterday. Now to change all the fluids, get some fresh grease in it and figure out what the hell to do with it. Either sit on it and weight for freight to go up, set it up to haul my RV trailer, or sell it and pretend it never happened.

If it’s ready, insured, legal. Maybe get word you are able to fill in short notice for a good price. Trucks break. Shops backed up, driver if O/O can fix but time. Having a power unit that can hook, on, make delivery even local, bring trailer back. In some areas could do costs, or better. But know your insurance of course.
JolliRoger and Gumper Thank this. -
$875/month if I go for it.JolliRoger and Feedman Thank this.

Why mine is insured for my business use, in state only.JolliRoger Thanks this.

I haven’t checked intrastate only. I feel this is the kind of thing you need to dedicate all your time to. Trying to balance it with another 40 hour weekday job would be tough.

My CDL is interstate. But my truck is intended for in state. Couple 100 mile trips a week. With a 3 week pause right now. Hopefully parked in shed all winter. For my business use.

Its more convenient if you can dedicate all your time to it… first year and a half I had my truck, I worked full time doing construction, and ran as needed at night. I was a back up truck for a local outfit, and just like @larry_minn said, trucks break, shops are slow, rush orders come up, etc… work varied from one night a week, to 4. 4 was rare, and while I liked the income, my tail would be dragging pretty hard after working 4 nights a week…Sirscrapntruckalot, larry_minn, JolliRoger and 3 others Thank this.
