I don't know you either, but just be very thankful about one thing, with all the experienced drivers out there looking for work, your application would be put at the bottom of any recruiters pile. If I was 20 years old again and know then what I know now, I'd be looking for another career. And one more thought, based on what you told us, it's probably a good thing you can't get an OTR job, all that and you're only 20. I wonder what your record will look like at 40.

Your chances are very slim. I do see that the possessions were charges...does that mean there is a court case pending or was a case dropped?

The speeding ticket wouldn't be a huge deal by itself depending on how far over the limit you were.

Reckless driving is not just a ticket. It's what's known as a traffic crime. That by itself may prevent you from driving a truck...at least for the next 10 years.

The burglary conviction, since it was adjudicated and you were found guilty or pled to it, is an almost sure kiss of death to most trucking companies.

My question on all of this is whether you were still a minor when all this occurred. If that's the case, you may have an outside chance. However, as some of the others have pointed out, there are a lot of experienced drivers on the market right now who do not have these issues to overcome.

You're only 20 years old. The best you can do is move forward with your life and stay out of any more trouble. If I was in your shoes, I would forego any dreams of trucking for the time being and concentrate on bettering myself in a different career choice. If, after some real time has passed and you stay "straight," there may be a slim shot at it. But it's something that will take years to happen. Keep in mind, though, the requirements for a driver are getting tighter and tighter.

By your writing, spelling and grammar, you seem to be an intelligent guy. There are other things out there for someone with intelligence and skills that pay more money than this that have a lower stress level and will have you home more often.

Ask any person who has a conviction on them, they'll respond with "I was charged with insert here".

Not to say he was convicted of anything. But it shows a pattern, and those "charges" will hurt him.

Ive never even seen the inside of a Jail, nor do i know what its like to even have been in an Accident. Heck i have not Received one Ticket in a Decade but i am having a hard Time getting a Recruiter to even call me back because of my lack of a Stable Work History(Industrial Accident) in the last Three Years even though ive been Cleared 100% by Four different Doc's and have my Medical Card.

People arent going to Lie to you here, the Odds are Stacked against you, but if you're Determined to Drive, get your CDL and hope for the best and dont give up.

Just for s### and giggles, run out this weekend and get a drug charge...any drug charge.

And let us know who hired you. And how long it took you to find a Mexican freight company operating within the US.

I've sat through too many orientations were the "drug charged" individuals were sent home within an hour of admitting it, or having been discovered in a deeper background check. How they got there ?? They lied or omitted certain details.

You're right I don't know you...and you don't know me...but the end of your statement justifies my suspicion....tell the others in your hood you won't be haulin anything for them to sell "off the market".

Apparently you think we are all "dumb truckers" and won't see through your story....brag some more and get the same responses from all on this forum.

    PATHETIC BEYOND WORDS!!!

Im going to be honest with you and nice .....Reckless driving convictions with most trucking companies have to be three years old and thats the same for high mph speeding tickets.DUI'S,AND DWI'S most likely need to be 5 years since the trucking company wont have to pay for your high insurance hike.Accidents of any kind with injuries or deaths have to be three years old and they have to be settled but thats only with some of the companies Ive spoke to.Burglary is a felony and usually possesion of drugs is too. They tell you they must be 10 or 5 years but they talk crap behind your back and just take your application and make a paper airplane and let it fly into the trash can....Good Luck
