OIC, so it's just yer pretty-much-standard goobermental boo-rock-ra-cee crapola.

ie: Fingerprint/Background check - TSA (Federal)
Written Test - administered by the State

With each and every state decidin on its own which comes foist an' how much it should cost.

You would think that they would also require a certain number of safe driving years...

 

I agree but than again most trucking companies that haul only hazmat required min.of 2 years experience.See if you are hauling a dry van that has cleaning chemicals like hand bath soap or household cleaners etc,then you need a hazmat endorsment.Now for oil companies and fuel hauling companies,those companies do required min.of otr years experience.Even tanker companies do required a min.1-2 years experince expect for schneider.

 

I've never seen a Swift tanker . Call Schneider . They are increasing their fleet of fuel haulers .
