Actually he's right. If he hadn't lost control, he wouldn't have hit the truck. Had the truck not been there, everybody could have been killed when the car left the highway at 70 mph. Everybody could have killed when the car rolled over. There are countless scenarios for this to have been a fatal accidents not requiring the truck to be there. Everyone of those scenarios relies on the car losing control.

Again this is a poor example. If he has broken down, or pulled over some other emergency, then it's OK, the family wouldn't have hit him? The only variable that changes the situation is the car not losing control. -
