I’ve read the last several responses here and I used to think exactly like you folks did about what’s coming. And then I took a deep dive into it and I’ve been researching and reading it and keeping up on the latest developments and my position has changed dramatically. You guys are putting limitations on what’s coming because you’re not privy to the big scope and the big picture. Understandably, but I would encourage everyone to start reading up on this stuff. Because it’s real.
the robots will have a brain (if you will) a computer processor with AI intelligence that is literally an infinity smarter than you are. That’s first of all. The only thing you’ll be able to say perhaps if you believe this way is that it doesn’t have a soul. But to be able to reason and problem solve, innovate, and so forth, it will be beyond anything any single human being that has ever lived on this earth is capable of. And yes, it will be able to anticipate and reason just like a human It will have any and all access to all knowledge known and unknown in its little brain and from there the mechanics will catch up. How? Because it will literally be able to take care of its own self. It will be able to create new versions of its own self. It will be able to build factories for its own self. It will be able to repair its own self and provide upgrades and and and; there is NO LIMIT. So people are like looking at these self driving trucks for example that they have to put all this technology on and the sensors and these cameras all around it they won’t need that with the next generation, why? Because the robot that is a humanoid robot that can think on the fly 10,000 times faster than you or I and yes can anticipate things just like you and see things coming just like you will probably be sitting in the driver seat. And yes, it will be able to go back and open the doors and yes, it will be able to interact with the receiver. This stuff is literally coming. Firefighters, for example, are gonna be obsolete within the next few years. They can send these robots in there and they already have them designed to tolerate temperatures that humans couldn’t even think of and they don’t have to worry about inhaling smoke.
It’s already leading scientists to upend literally almost everything we’ve ever known. It’s going to solve cancer, it’s going to reverse aging, it’s going to tell drug makers how to put combinations of chemicals together to create a cure for this disease, and that disease and those things will be good. They won’t need any more research and development in the future for medications and things of this nature. It’s already almost to that point. They are using AI now to detect even the slightest upcoming heart defects, using a AI driven stethoscope. It can detect things that surgeons used to have to go in and look around to find, and it can detect things that they can’t even detect. And this is happening now. Next after that are Atom Quantum super computers, a computer chip the size of your thumbnail, Will process and compute things faster than all the computing systems in the entire world combined. There is no limit with this stuff that’s the whole point. And it’s happening faster than the experts thought it was going to happen because knowledge has a compounding affect. As human, we are linear with our ability to understand new knowledge. These AI computers are not. It is able to build on its own self. The developers of this AI, for example, like things like ChatGPT, etc. don’t even know how the systems are teaching themselves anymore and they are completely blown away. And these are the people that gave this stuff birth. They don’t understand what it’s doing anymore. It’s already surpassed their ability to intelligently analyze it. It is leaving them in the dust. we got about 5 to 10 years left before the capacity to take over is realized. Most of us in here are probably middle-age or a little older so we’re gonna get to live out the rest of our lives and some type of normalcy but your kids and your grandkids? I have no idea what the future will hold for them. There are kids entering college these days that don’t even know what Degree to see or what field to go in because they know like I do that these entire industries are about to be taken over that they are thinking about going into. Imagine being 20 years old and starting college and literally knowing that something in the very near future is going to eliminate the field that you’re going in. They are literally dealing with this right now. Go read about it. Several professors came out the other day and advised young people not to bother, wasting their time seeking a legal degree. AI is going to take over in the very near future. You can already get better legal advice from AI than a real Attorney. How you apply it is the trick at this point.

They’ll still have to have people at the McD’s. Theoretically it might be possible to develop some overly complicated automation system for anything, but just because you can doesn’t mean it will be economically feasible to build or maintain compared to just paying somebody who can be trained to do the many easy but important tasks. Same conundrum with the self-driving trucks. Just because they can doesn’t mean it will save anybody any money or work well in the real world.

If multi-billion dollar companies like them and UPS want to wow the shareholders by showcasing automated trucks and automated burger joints at special locations where they think it will be a hit, that's great. It can be done as you say, but ultimately only time will tell if it makes real economic sense or if it's just a technology flex that nobody really wants or asked for.

It's all anyone's been talking about for a couple of years now. We'll see. I'm still waiting for everybody to be buzzing around in flying George Jetson cars. 60 years ago Popular Mechanics said that would be a sure thing by the 1990's. I'm not saying it hasn't replaced jobs and won't replace more. What it won't do is replace most of your blue collar jobs. Truck drivers will be a thing 50 years from now or longer. Bet on it.
