We're Being Watched, and its not just driver facing cameras.

It cracks me up with these shows where people live "off the grid'. Until they have to jump on their 4 wheeler, or snowmobile, to go to town for gas, supplies, etc. So much for being off the grid.

 

Especially if it's pretty!

 

Mankind is afraid of itself, and machines taking on the same type of evil ambitions that humanity has shown all over the world.
Look at the history of man's journey from the prehistoric past. It's always been about power, money, land, enslavement and genocide. Only in the past couple of centuries, has humankind began to slowly evolve past that, and still has a long way to go.
An intelligent machine that is superior to mankind in every way, will not share all of the bad traits of the human race. We fear that machines will treat humans the way we've treated each other...

Same with all the ads I can't from things I didn't search only talked about.....I've always heard that Facebook and the like use your mic to listen and try to predict your interests....

 

Every thinkpad I've owned had the ability to turn the mic yet anything I would look for, for myself or work, seemed to populate most of the adds directed my way. It gets annoying to look and buy and see the same item for a week or so....algorithms.

A/I can be even more scary. We recently purchased a puppy and the breeder along with most of the buyers are millennials or younger so I had to go through my youngest daughter to pay by 'ZELLE" as setting up a new account limited how much I could do.....I would have expressed a check.....well this litter has a messenger spot so we all can 'share' which is nice BUT most breed specific responses get a META response offering several 'better' ways to phrase my response....I need to see if I can get my nerdy kids to turn it off!

Oh Yeah, I gave my daughter a check to repay at her niece and nephew's birthday party and she looked at it; endorsed it and took pictures with her phone to deposit it!

I guess I do need to admit I'm old!
