I am looking for any info on Werners apprentice program. I would like to usemy GI bill to help out if possible. I all ready have my A's but have only drove for 6 months OTR with PAM. the rest of the time was either in the army or driving a Dump bucket. Times are tough right now working as a GM tech. Would I be better off going back to a CDL school and starting there or trying to find a company that will OJT. Thanks in advance. Z

The CDL mills arent going to help you out much they will just take your money and you will still have to do the training programs anyway.

It is far worse then just being closed. They have so little freight they are on a firing spree, and I am not one to spread rumors, but today at the Dallas yard, which we went to to finish removing our items from our former truck, I saw 11 people emptying out their trucks. I talked to one of them, whom said that his dispatcher told him that Werner has to reduce its driving force by 1000, and it looks like to me, they are targeting those near their yearly bonus, and with the higher pay grades.
