I am familiar with Werner and how much they tend to, well, suck. However, they do offer CDL in 15 days. My question is if going through the crap worth it?
I mean I could go to the local College and go through their 8 week program for $2500 or I can just do Werner, what do you guys think?
Werner CDL training, is it worth it?

I drove for Werner for 3 yrs back in 2003,they were bad then, heard its much worse now.But everybody has to start somewhere to get the exp then move on to bigger and better things in a yr.If possible you should attend a college then you can pick and choose. If you choose the company sponsered training route then you have to sign a yr contract. With werner you will not get the miles you think. They keep the OTR drivers out in the northeast and save the better runs for regional and dedicated drivers. Also werner has alot of day drivers which are called net ops.Werner has more drivers then freight which explains more alot more sitting then driving.I would keep looking before making the decision to go to Werner unless you don't mind sitting. You're not in that much of a hurry to get your cdl are you?

8 weeks for 2500 is a pretty good deal. You will probably learn more at the college but that's a matter of opinion. Keep researching, some will tell you to go to company sponsored training, I.e. Werner. Don't do it! Just my opinion which is an educated one.

don't even think about werner, i drove for them for 10 months and i tried everything, northeast, midwest, team werner and all of their dedicated accounts they were all sucks i quit because they started playing games with me, short runs, low pay, they treat drivers like crap.

Good to know, I kinda already had a feeling but this confirmed it. Thanks.

The fact that they spit out drivers in that short amount of time is why they suck! 7-8 weeks is how long it takes to even think about driving!

Dispatchers use to get a weekly list of the rehires/fires/ppl that quit if that tells you anything.

Well, I got my cdl permit at the court house, then went through third party testing at a local community college for the road test $250. Landed a local TT job. Boss road tested me 10 minutes and gave the the ok yoi can drive. Been trucking for 2 months now and started this career with 45 minutes of road time in a semi. -
Werner, Prime, TMC, were the top company's in my time. We ran freight. Had no idea what a Starbucks was. Never got GPS because I never cheated on my wife. Now I see I need about 3000.00 worth of gear just to get a load. Tracking? I don't think so. All you need to know is your freight will be there as promised.
I enjoy watching. I enjoy driving more. If you want it, I got it, just hang on. -
Paluche Thanks this.
