It's no joke. If you try and leave Werner (like you had to leave C.R. England) Werner will make you financially responsible for truck repair costs that did not happen (or occur) while you were driving your truck. You will very likely be issued a truck that needs repairs and when you try to quit Werner, Werner will deduct from your payroll any truck repair costs at their discretion. That's why when drivers quit Werner, they don't say anything to anyone....other drivers that considered my best interests, warned me and said, "Just get the f****** truck to a terminal and go home and don't say anything." Just don't do it, man.....Southern California has a wholesale bakery that is regional....Le Chef...check out companies like "Le Chef" that do local and/or regional deliveries in your area......
Furthermore, after Werner illegally deducts truck repair costs from your payroll for truck damages that did not even occur while you were driving, they will proceed with fraudulent DOT and/or DAC reports of accidents (that did not occur while you were driving) to support their actions.......
Please read "DAC Violated Truck Driver Rights." The USA Department of Justice and Federal Trade Commission exposed major illegal business activity because truck drivers were ending up with DOT and DAC reports that were completely fraudulent.

Thanks Sofia, I'll check out Le Chef, let me know if you think of other companies like this one that I may apply to. I am getting that old sinking feeling.

Fortunately, I did not end up with a DOT or DAC report against me (as far as I know). I was only with Werner less than a year without any accidents and no traffic violations....and maintained a clean MVR. Other drivers had to fight fraudulent reports on their DAC or DOT records when accidents never occurred during their Werner employment, but Werner was trying to make them financially responsible for truck damages that were pre-existing prior to the truck even being assigned.

AMEN! You said that right. People hear disgruntled employees talking badly about companies because the driver has messed up so how, therefore the dispatcher will try his patience to see how driven he/she is to keep their job.

the DC I work at won't do business no more with werner cause werner don't do hazmat the right way. the DC said no way when they pay for hazmat and when werner don't have no hazmat drivers they just make other drivers do it. werner didnt pay me right so i got a job at one of werners DC customers.

Right out of trucking school I drove for Werner for a year and it was a mostly positive experience. If my truck needed fixing, they fixed it.... Never had all these problems people talk of. Best of luck.
