It's all a catch 22 unless you are lucky enough to find a moral company with dispatchers that have been drivers first. I had been a driver when I went into dispatch so I understood what the driver was experiencing and I could be a more effective dispatcher. Big comapanies are going to be ###### if you do and ###### if you dont places to work "sometimes". If you have a maintenance issue where repair has been denied, and you have an immoral dispatcher if you refuse to drive even with documentation you might win by going up the chain to have the right thing done but having been in the office unfortunatly that dispatcher can and probably will sit you. On the flip side, fearing what I just said could happen, you be a "good little driver" and run unsafe or illegal and you get caught or God forbid you get hurt or hurt someone else then you get screwed there to. I bailed a load out of trouble as a solo driver before everything got so strict by running way over. I got the load there on time but hit an overhang and gashed the top of the side of the trlr. In the safety hand book back then you were required to take a u.a. "if" you, an other person or someone elses property were damaged or hurt. I had read the book and knew this. I was tired and knew the rules so when they told me to go to this place to pee I told them I would be happy to pee for them but I was tired (legal easy way to stop them) and would not drive but if they found a pee company to come to me i would take the test. I was not DACed but I was fired for negligence. It's hard but you can find a good moral company and make good money with them.

You are my worst nightmare in the office. Preachy and intolerable.
Still serious about the medication. Your rant is six degrees removed from reality.
Werner is based in Nebraska. You ain't from 'round them parts, are ya, Sophie? -

Sofia, Sofia, Sofia, Wow!
I worked there 5 years and know for sure I won't go back. They are really screwed up and a lot of it has to do with, a big corporation and no one taking responsibility for thier actions.
Never and I mean never was I told to do something illegal be it hours, equipment, or other. I guess I missed the post where you were in contact with the safety department on your issues. I had problems one time in Omaha and truck was red tagged. They were giving me the runaround and I was suppose to be home 2 hours away. Walked up to the dispatch window asked for the person who had me on thier board and explained the error in thier thought process and in turn talked to his supervisor. Within and hour my truck was in the shop. Not an easy task when your not under a load.
Do you make deliveries on time? Keep dispatch informed of delays or problems? The dispatch in turn talks to the load planner. They are trying to meet customer expectations on delivery of thier frieght. That is how they keep customers and get more loads and in some instances become a dedicated trucking company.
I think there is so much to how they actually operate that you have no idea about how it works.
I could go on however I think it is of no use. Your less than one year far out weighs what I and others with more time in that company expirienced. -
Furthermore, the verification of my statements was not difficult. Unfortunately, my concerns were confirmed by Werner drivers regardless of their length of driving experience, terminal, yard or national region. Werner drivers had the same issues of not being paid, the prevention of truck repairs to reduce truck expenses for dispatchers quotas, dispatchers not permitting scheduled and approved medical needs of the drivers, etc. etc.....this list goes on.....
It would be nice if I was wrong; but, unfortunately, I am not. There are certainly honest and reputable trucking companies. Werner is not one them. Werner's reputation internationally is recognized for their corrupt and fraudulent business practices. Nothing can really change the obvious and the amount of time I have been driving has nothing to do with it. -
CRE is just as bad.
