Apparently, this happened at the fuel island at the Petro in Ontario,CA. Driver fired for honking his horn at the other driver which started the road rage. Huge D move by Werner safety.

What do you want to bet that we’re not getting the whole story?
Werner most likely reviewed the dash cam footage and saw something that influenced the decision to cut them loose.

I actually think Werner safety made the right call. He did incite the violence. Had he not blown the horn and got into a confrontation with those fools, they wouldn't have beaten the truck to hell with a machete. Sometimes one has to learn to let things ride. His road rage got the best of him there, and it cost Werner a lot of money to repair that truck. The best thing to do is to let him go before his road rage creates a fatality, and we all know Werner's history with fatalities and having to pay out large judgments. In my opinion, there isn't much room for errors at that company.

Honking a horn is not inciting violence ! Anymore than his being there. He happened to be behind a self intitled manic waiting to go off.

If honking the horn is inciting violence, I would have started a war. Yeah, there's always a chance you piss off the crazy but that could happen any time.

Who knows? He could have dropped a few ethnic slurs or questioned the purity of his mother. Doesn't excuse some psychopath pulling out a machete and attacking a truck.

You and me both. The Werner driver just so happened to get someone that's reactionary and sensitive to a horn being blown lol. I guess once the Werner druver started having words, and the other truckers berated the other fella, that made the situation worse. Really, the Werner driver lost his job because there was evidently significant damage to the truck. Combine that with his previous incident, dude had to go. Me personally I would have let that ride because I was at the truck stop. It's different when you blow the horn at someone while you're on the highway. He could have just blown the horn, but he made it worse by arguing with the fella. Now that I'm thinking about it, that's probably what incited the violence. He could have said some inflammatory things and that caused the other dude to grab the machete.

I agree. The other fella took off though so the Werner guy is the one driving the truck. He should have let it ride and got back on the road. He is at work after all. Werner don't care about the other guy. The are invested only in the fella driving the truck and his need to argue got their equipment damaged.

Not so much honking the horn, but the confrontation is probably the issue here.
