So to make good money you have to simply move, then run trainees like a team where you get all the pay?

    pattyj Thanks this.

Before tax... the first week of training is run like a solo driver... then we get progressively more miles... i let the student back up two or three times a day and am always there to answer questions... are there trainers who are lazy and use the student for miles? yes... i am not one of them

Trainees deserve a huge part of the glory for the miles but unfortunately they never do.I always thought when you're training, the trainer is suppose to stay in the jump seat at all times but thats not the case, they use trainees as a team operation and the trainer gets all the pay while all the trainne gets is spending money. You certainly can't pay bills with what they make.

no... but you get experience and knowledge and someone to guide you on your path to success... trucking in general takes a person with an independent mindset... it sounds like you wanted someone to drive the truck for you from the passenger seat
