Don't feel bad in this economy people have been losing everything. A couple companies I drove for closed up and moved to a different state. People have lost homes you know the story. And no it just not justify what you will be going thru , nothing does but it just happens to people.

 

I currently am waiting for a load. I have had to have my truck repaired and now i wait. Seems that freight is slowing down proportinately closer to Christmas and new Years. I was lucky and got 600 plus to start the week, but waiting is the name ofthe game right now. I too am looking for another company to drive for and that is difficult this time of year. what bothers me most is that without miles, I can barely pay the health insurance I need for my family and have anything to take home for bills. I understand this is endemic of this company and others in the industry, but lets be honest here, if we as new drivers knew this coming in, the odds are I would rather work at a minimum wage job in my home town, for when said and done, I would be bringing more money home.

 

it slows in winter time, ppl arent"out and about" as much..is cold, ppl stay in doors, i guess thats why?? ya, sometimes its best not to try and figure out why they do the things they do at first as youll learn new stuff everyday and some of ur wonders or confusion about how things operate will come together after a matter of time. If you're not makin money, it can be 1 of 5 things 1)your dispatcher is a dimwit and/or doesnt care 2)you are a dimwit and/or doesnt care 3)are not experienced enough yet or have not been trained properly by ur dptchr to know how the "system" works 4)no freight/no freigght in ur area(which isnt ur fault)-refer to #1 5)too many drivers/trx for the amount of freight as werner likes gov tax brks for training new recruits. I was happy at werner while I was there and made good money, mainly bcuz of who I had for a dptchr, which I did my part too lemme tell ya, but I get so tired of hearing what this company is putting ppl thru.I do know that sometimes its the driver tho.But what I cant stand more then anything are Ahole dptchrs that donot care about their drvrs or if they make any money or not. Why even come to work if you dont wanna do your job..? Something to keep in mind though: Good drivers cannot be succesful with a bad dispatcher just as Good dispatchers cannot be succesful with bad drivers.;] ok my eyes are startin to get heavy and am startin to run my sentences together gn & gl

 

yes but I would rather lose my home and everything I own then my health,and wldnt have ended up losin my job in the first place if I hadnt been hurt.As I was at the top of the board runnin close to 4k mi a week sometimes, runnin my ### off doin whatever I had to do to get there and would go months without havin a week less then 3k/was a bad mother trucker..lol (this wasnt dedicated,was just plain ol solo sereg bluvan) You cant put a price on ur well being, quality of life or happiness tho. I would pay a billion dollars to go back and not have hurt myself that day, what I should have done was reported it as it was werners stupid truck I was in when I did it, but didnt. If I could id be on the rd right now runnin my mouth on the cb,chompin on a subway and chuggin a mt dew, just cant work in pain like this, much less get sleep/take naps when ur not even tired as u so often have to do...sux =/

 

If you were members here before you started driving trucks recently---you would KNOW how slow it is !! And how little money you may make !! But us old farts that try to warn you are called negative or wrong or stupid.. .Enjoy......

lol yep,im 6'4 185lb and used to b able to do over a 100 pushups in a row,probly cldnt even do 2 right now to save my life. I think some things can be genetic and others just plain out havin an accident or gettin hurt. ya, some ppl say they have sore bones er whatever and other ppl that are twice as bad off as them may not say anything.or someone can say they have sore bones and another could say the same thing but only be half as bad off...(ppl have diff levels of tolerance aswell as different levels of pain too). I dont know for sure whats wrong with me as I havent been able to get an mri but it aint sore bones,I can tell ya that. Doc was gonna have me get one but is way too expensive out of pocket and told him no. I dont guess it would actually help me directly but atleast I would know

 

My husband drives for werner and it seems as if they don't collect the paper work from the drop box's to pay on time.Also it seems as if he makes less being out on the road then he did with a local job,I get the pay stubs at the house and they don't pay good at all. He has down time alot and he's a trainer been there a lil over a year in pay is getting ####### by the week.In they never seem to get him home on time they never have loads coming to michigan,but they say they care about family..Yeah maybe there own...

 

Only thing I can offer here is this: I also work for Werner and it is not their fault if Trippak is not picked up. It is the contracted carrier with Trippak. The driver drops envelope in Trippak box and it is supposed to pick up at posted pick up time. Assuming UPS does their job, the envelopes then go to Louisville,KY for processing. Then Werner receives info. DHL used to have the Trippak contract with Werner but apparently UPS underbid them.

 

Im a current Werner driver. I have been with Werner for 2 years. About the 48 stater driver that stated that he was'nt getting no miles. Well I guess It depends what account your in, or what you do in Werner. Im At the walmart Account In Gas city, Indiana. They are keeping us very bust there. If your really not getting the miles that you need. you should contact Driver replacement Monday moring. The reason is because driver quit or get fired over the weekend. So they dont replace anyone till the week day. Ummm, There will be time when Drivers replacment will tell you that there isn't any opening. But you should ask them the phone number for the DM that is in charge of the account you want to get in. That way the chances of getting in them accounts are greater. Another thing is that driver replacement doesn't alway have the right information. I called them 2 years ago and they told me they didn't have any opening in my area, But I got the DM'S number and he got me in the Walmart account. I average about 2,000-2,500 miles a week and get $15 dollars a stop. We can get up to 5 stops a day. So yea Try doing that. Hopley my information will help you. I had tought about leaving Werner but I choice to stay. The grass isn't always green in other companys.
