Here is the deal with WERNER. This is from personal experience and that alone. I worked for Werner, fresh out of the Army. And yes they promised me great things. I made a hell of a lot of money, but the " The Werner Cares" Policy does not really exsist. I stuck it out running dedicated and trainging for Family Dollar out of Duncan, OK. But, my truck broke down while I had my son with me and I was on the side of a dangerous corner just over the Eastern border of Oklahoma. Saftey and road Breakdown left me stranded until for over six hours, then called me and said that someone dropped the ball. I asked to drop my trailer and move my rig to a safe place for my son and I, they told me no, it wold be abondaning the load, and was against company poilicy. When I asked if it was against company poilcy if another rig can around that corner and hit my trailer, possibly causing injury or death to my son and I, they said NO. So I quit, I was still stranded for another week in that town, while they tried to half fix my trailer. So here is my suggestion. If you can and are will to come to the Permian Basin, in SW TX and SE NM, There is an opportunity for you here, like you have never seen. You wasted your money on truck driving school, but they dont tell you that. You want to know more reply here and I will help you out. Good Luck to ya out there.

hey I want to thank everyone for their positive imput, and yes even to the two knucklehead drivers who were negative to me. (you two gave me a good laugh and proved that there are more GOOD guys then guys like you). I have had a miserable week with Werner again, and received little pay. I cant go into detail, cuz,1..it's boring and we all have been there. I amazed at how pathetic and disengenuous dispatch is. How they can sit in their nice office and tell you all is going "the best" it can when u are sitting for 20 or 30 hours somehwere. Or your loads are not ready or your pay is short,(how come they never pay you too much by mistake?? always to little)?again this is not just Werner, I am sure. Truckers are taken advantage of in general. We may deserve it?? but I dont think so. I am now looking to find my way out of this job. I would love to go to a company that wants a real hard working, honest and professional, loyal company man. But I am sure finding that company is not easy, and as well as a long line to get in. Thanks again!!

well here we go... pot stirring 101.. if the students would tell the training department of issues then the trainers will be reviewed and counseled, if it continues then the trainer will be DQ'd. Yes there are issues. some good trainer and some money hogs. I have been with werner for almost 10 years and i am a driver trainer. have been for 9 years. it is true that you can not make every one happy all the time. but I have had students get on my truck and expect to be home every week end. WE all know clean freaks, we all know middle of the road people and we all know pigs. I can only speak from my experience.

Lj do u have anyone u can team with? A friend another student. From truck driving school? My husband and I both work for Werner as a team. He was a solo driver and his lowest paycheck was 23.00 I about died. I too said we can't pay bills with that kind of money. I agree the weekend dispatchers suck they are probably temps or office staff never brrn behind the wheel. If your dispatcher sucks request another u can. We haven't sat very long as a team but as solo hubby didn't make many miles. Just a thought once u been some where for 1yr doors open 4 u.

stay on the road, dont stop, get the load(jit)there and say yes to being ready for the next load, and dispatch will get you loads. also it's .28 cents a mile plus incentives
I have no complaints, there ok to me
