you know ive been reading complaintsand every company is nearly the same where miles are turned, if you are eager to roll and don't complain you may set prefreces but that is your limits your maneger will give runs to first who takes them. complain or give limits what you get will be less
hook and run attitude gets you the miles only thing they want to hear is your available and if your truck need repairs, the rest is if weather delays you

u are not driving anywhere near 6.1k miles a week...I am sure u will respond with some bogus story how u do this and that...but I know and everyone who knows Werner knows u dont drive 6k a week..
sadly u need to post a lie on here to feel good....
and it's a pathetic lie....
as far as the guy who is happy with .28 cents a mile...
I am happy for you! and I am glad you are being treated well
by Werner..they are not an evil company....
It's the industry as a whole that didn't work for me, to earn $30K a year and stay in a truck 5 weeks at a time and get 4 days off...is not even close to being ok...I am currently working my way into a UPS job..
I got very lucky, EXTREMELY lucky...well that and hard work networking.
Their delivery drivers make $29.70 an hour... about $75K a year..
I will have to work nights loading the trucks for about 6 months at much less... but this depot I am starting at has 5 drivers set to retire in the next year. so where .28 cents or $30K a year is ok for the job u do I am glad. but i will be happy making much more, home every night and off weekends and holidays!! but i will always miss driving the big trucks...
I did really enjoy it.. I was a turn and run guy too! I was sent to all the bad places and no complaints...Chicago/Montreal/Jersey city..etc
in the long run I have Werner and lots of others to thank that got me this new opportunity..
peace to all and a MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!wolfen Thanks this. -
I think it's hysterical how these drivers are brainwashed to believe that this sliding pay scale is good. 26cpm is an insult to a student let alone an experienced driver.

zentrucking and skullitor Thank this. -
I think if these companies could get away with it they would have the driver PAY THE COMPANY .48 a mile for the privilege of driving for them!
-
i agree they continue to squeeze the driver... and what they are doing is lowering the standard of who will drive their rigs...
but how about what Werner does that is absolute garbage??
if I spent any money for them, ie. lumpers, fees, scales or anything...I had two choices pay it out of my pocket and wait for it to get back in my pay..or use one of their instant company checks...and then THEY automatically take from my check that week... both ways they return the money to u once they have received a receipt... BUT they return it to u as EARNED income and u pay tax on it??? WTF!! I am sure so this is so they can write it off twice....NOW also u better check and keep records...they WILL forget to refund u the money or whatever they call it..complete dirty garbage..bad enough u make so little but to steal from u on top of it.. -
(Standard Operating Procedure)
Say it ain't so.
Of all the underhanded dirty dealin' from the bottom of the deck, ---- there oughta be a law.
Are you positively sure Werner does that?
Did you ask anyone in payroll to explain how they manage to get away with double taxin' their underpaid drivers? Or, is it possible that they've devised, or otherwise use a formula that separates monies expended by the driver during the course of their assigned duties from the monies owed them after the fact?
SOMEtimes, what seems obvious at first glance is explainable to those who endeavor to inquire.
Sounds a lot like some of my friends that I've loaned money to. One such friend forgot how much I actually loaned him, ...... so he just stopped repayin' me. Then again, he's a Big truck truck driver and mighta got the idea from the company he drives for.
Have they no shame?
I say dispatch those types to New York City and Chicago exclusively.
When they yell UNCLE, and ask what did they do to deserve that,:smt017
:smt022clear y'all's throat and calmly explain how the system works,
and will continue to work, 'till all their debts are cleared. :smt104 When a zero balance is achieved, New York City and Chicago will be images in their rear view mirrors, ---- but will still be there should they default on any payments owed in the future.
That oughta get their attention and be an incentive to do the right thang. :smt047
Ya reckon.
