This case was a warning to all trucking companies.....you can be held liable even if you don’t break any highway traffic laws. Anyone would have to be a fool to think otherwise.

The difference being oversize has a different set of rules. We have to shut down before everyone else. You can't compare permit loads required planning with dry van freight.

 

A jury also declared oj simpson innocent. Juries often flaunt the rule of law and pass judgement based on their own agendas.

 

Id have to see this from a verified source to believe werner has a policy against cbs in trucks. A trainer telling his student to keep it off sure or not installing one at all, i can see that. but company policy? Not buying it without verification.

 

According to the info in the original article, the CDL manual in every state requires that the driver slow to a crawl and get off the highway. Same premise as oversize.
